In the first round of the Scottish Second XI. Cup competition, Dundee "A" defeated Aberdeen "A" at Dens Park by 4 goals to 0. After a good beginning, the Pittodrie team fell away, and weakness in defence allowed McDonald get through twice for Dundee before the interval. In the second half the Aberdeen forwards often attacked, but weakness in rear lost the side other two goals, Gordon and Chalmers scoring.
