Reserves Miss Chances |
 |
In a stirring encounter at Dens Park, in a Scottish Alliance match, Dundee reserves beat Aberdeen reserves by 3 goals to 2. With the wind behind them in the first half, Dundee had the better of the exchanges. Gilmour failed at a penalty kick, but after fifteen minutes' play, Gibson gave the home team the lead following a corner kick, and that player obtained other two goals before half-an-hour's play. Near the interval Sutherland counted for Aberdeen, after clever combination, but Dundee crossed over with a lead of two goals. With the wind in their favour, Aberdeen were quickly on the offensive in the second half, and Forbes got through to score a second goal for them. After that and until the end Aberdeen had much the better of the exchanges, but the forwards were palpably weak at goalmouth, and, missing numerous chances, failed to draw level in a game which they should have won.
