Div 1 (Old)
Third Lanark 0 - 0 Aberdeen
Kick Off:
Attendance: 4,000
Venue: Cathkin Park, Glasgow
At Glasgow, before some 2000 spectators. In the opening minutes Third Lanark had the better of the exchanges, but their forwards failed to improve on their opportunities. After a brief attack by Aberdeen, the Third pressed again, and for a long time the visitors were kept on the defensive. Towards the interval Aberdeen were aggressive, but there was no scoring by either side. The second half was a repetition of the first, the home team having most of the play, and but for weak finishing they might have taken the lead. A fine run by the visitors right wing looked dangerous, but Orr cleared, and afterwards Third Lanark were always the more likely scorers. Aberdeen's sound defence prevailed. Result:- No scoring.

In a game that was on productive of goals Aberdeen did well to share in a division of the points in their last Scottish League game of the season with Third Lanark at Cathkin, Glasgow. There were only 4000 spectators, and these witnessed what was at times an interesting struggle. Aberdeen started in promising style, travers and Wyllie both testing Wharrier. The Pittodrie players made all the running for a time, but were held up by a grand defence. Cranston brought relief to the home team, and Greig had twice to clear a good shots by him. Near the close of it. Chatwin just missed scoring for Aberdeen with a hard drive, and Wharrier saved well from Soye.

Third Lanark showed great improvement in the second half, and Greig effected some clever saving from shots by Cranston, Smith, Mountford, and Rankine. From a breakaway by Aberdeen Main missed a good opportunity of scoring, and later Greig had again to clear from Mountford. In the closing stages Aberdeen were hard pressed, but sent up a magnificent defence, and a goal was draw resulted.
