Northern League
Johnstone Wanderers 2 - 2 The Aberdeen
Kick Off:    Peat, Aitken       White, Tomen
Attendance: 0
Venue: Clepington Park, Dundee
Played at Dundee in the Northern League competition The weather good, and the attendance of spectators fair. Aberdeen kicked off, and for the first few minutes play was in mid field. Aberdeen first showed signs of attacking, and got into their opponents' territory, but the Wanderers quickly retaliated, and Peat put on the first point for the home team in less than ten minutes. After this reverse the strangers attacked, and Ewan and Morley Brown brought the ball within range. The Wanderers' backs, however, took the ball from them and the homesters assumed the aggressive. Nothing, however, resulted - the backs and goal-keeper saving well. The Wanderers' goal seemed at the mercy of the strangers, when the referee declared off-side and the opportunity was lost. Give and take play was the order, and no further scoring took place, the teams crossing over with the score standing: Wanderers, 1 ; Aberdeen, 0.
On restarting the Aberdeen forced the pace and White succeeded in equalising the scores. The Wanderers again wakened up, and although they were frequently repulsed, they at attacked again and again, until Aitken once more beat Ramsay. Toman almost scored a second point for Aberdeen immediately after, but ten minutes later, from a pass from Brown he got the ball past the home goal-keeper. An exciting game finished: Wanderers 2, Aberdeen 2.

The weather of Saturday was dull, dark, and terribly disagreeable. Two southern combinations visited the city, and both returned hence hopelessly beaten, the Blairgowrie boys by the Victoria United and the Cupar Angus by the Orion, while the Aberdeen drew the Johnstone Wanderers at Dundee. This is indeed most satisfactory, and shows that we are still progressing in the right direction. As regards the Dundee match, the Senior Club had hard lines in not getting the verdict, as had they been fully manned they might have added their total.
