Div 1 (Old)
Celtic 1 - 0 Aberdeen
Kick Off:    McMenemy 10
Attendance: 10,000
Venue: Celtic Park, Glasgow
In their last home League game of the season the Celtic had an easier win over Aberdeen than the score indicates. A crowd of 12,000 saw a good first half, during which period McMenemy scored the only goal of the game. The Aberdeen forwards had several good chances , but they failed badly at close quarters. In the second half the visitors were confined mostly to their own end, but Anderson, Colman, and Munro put up a great defence and prevented the Celtic from adding to their score.

Against the Celts at Parkhead Aberdeen put up a good fight. Although Celtic won by one goal they had no walk-over, and Aberdeen made them go all the way. The only goal of the match was scored by McMenemy in the first 10 minutes. After an indifferent opening, Aberdeen played a really good game, and the pace was fast throughout. Aberdeen seemed to rely too much on their right wing, and short some hesitancy near goal. Had it not been for these two elements, they might have drawn level before the interval.

In the second half Aberdeen made desperate efforts to equalise. Their halves completely upset the combination of the Celts, while the defence was sound as a bell and not a whit inferior to the Parkhead stone-wallers. Anderson, Aberdeen's goalkeeper, has some splendid saves, while Munro made a splendid partner for Colman. McMenemy was the most dangerous forward for the Celtic. Repeatedly the Celtic made determined efforts to increase their lead, but each time the defence prevailed. There were about 10,000 spectators present.
