Div 1 (Old)
Hamilton 2 - 0 Aberdeen
Kick Off:    Cameron, Hanlon
Attendance: 2,500
Venue: Douglas Park, Hamilton
In the Hamilton Academicals v Aberdeen match at Hamilton, the Academicals were undoubtedly the better lot. Cameron the Academical centre forward (who played centre half-back in place of McNamee) scored the only goal of the first half and it served till ten minutes from time when Hanlon scored a second goal. Play never at any stage reached First League standard, and was watched by 6000 spectators.

The Aberdeen forwards showed a lot of clever footwork and Hamilton, and gave the home defenders a hard afternoon. The game was well contested, and had a draw been the result the Lanarkshire club could not have complained. They have gone back a bit since they were north in the opening weeks of the season, when they left the impression that they were a strong combination. Cumming was well watched, but there was no better forward afield, and Archibald was also great. Davie Main had one of two characteristic bursts down the centre, and had hard lines in not opening the scoring from one. Cail and grant also did well. Greig, the Hamilton custodian, was lucky. Cameron was the best man for Hamilton, and got their first goal in the first half. Hanlon, their outside right, was the pick of their attack, and beat Anderson for the second time in the closing minutes. Aberdeen's defense was very sound.
