The A's at Peterhead.
As a Northern League fixture could not be got for last week, Aberdeen A journeyed to Peterhead to play a friendly. The game drew out a large crowd, who had the satisfaction of seeing their own men play in better form than they have shown this season. They were first to score, giving Mutch no chance with the shot, and crossed over with 1-0 in their favour. Aberdeen took the game in hand during the second half, Bobby Simpson and McKinley scoring. The visitors overdid the close passing game, and-lost many chances thereby. The brothers Simpson were prominent for the Aberdeen, while Hannah played a great game at back. Mutch was also in good form between the sticks. For Peterhead the halves put in some hard, useful work, but the forwards were erratic at close quarters. The backs were safe, and but for the two goals the custodian saved many good shots, but the two he let past. .Source: Bon-Accord, 3rd October 1907
