Aberdeen 2 - 2 Aberdeen University

Two or three thousand people witnessed a well-contested game between Aberdeen A and University at Pittodrie. Ideal weather conditions favoured the match.

The game had not been well begun when Aberdeen A scored through Wright. Mathieson made a strong attempt to save, but failed to catch the ball, which went into the far corner of the net. The A's continued to have the better of the play during the first half. A fine piece of play by Stalker, the University inside right, was heartily applauded. Stalker wriggled past two opponents and sent out to his outside man with the side of his boot in a class style. Keay got in a shot, but Stewart saved.

Shortly after the resumption Aberdeen A again scored. Following a corner, Strachan shot, and the ball struck the inside of the upright and went into the net. Both ends were visited in turn, and first Mathieson saved and then Stewart twice in succession. Another corner fell to the A's , but they did not improve upon it. From this stage University wakened up, and went strongly right to the end of the game. Their pressure was rewarded when Stalker found an opening and netted. After a short and sharp attack by the A's in which Rankine had hard lines with a fast shot, University forwards again got going, and Stalker, carrying the ball through in splendid style, got close in and scored the equaliser.
