Reserves Win Again

Aberdeen "A" notched another victory in the Scottish Alliance competition at Pittodrie on Saturday at the expense of St Mirren "A". The match took place in ideal football weather, the pitch being dry and hard, and the overhead conditions excellent. The visitors had several changes in their team owing to several of their forwards being requisitioned to fill up vacancies in the first team. During the first half the exchanges were pretty even, and if the visitors moved with greater confidence and method, the Aberdeen men were more dangerous near the goal-mouth. In Arnott and Morrison the Paisley team had two resourceful and sure-kicking backs, and to them principally they owed their clean sheet at the interval. In the second half Aberdeen pressed to some purpose, and through the brilliance of Thomson, McBoyle was able to beat the St Mirren goalkeeper twice. This was all the scoring, and the homesters secured a clever victory by 2 goals to 0. St Mirren's best were Arnott, McCormack, Hannah, and Stevenson, while Bruce, Armstrong, Ritchie, and D. Thomson were Aberdeen's stars.
