Aberdeen "A" were very unlucky to lose to Hearts "A" in their Scottish Alliance encounter at Pittodrie Park, Aberdeen, yesterday. Two unexpected goals to one, scored by Forbes, gave the visitors the victory. The game was played in a torrential downpour and hurricane blowing from the sea. Aberdeen "A" won the toss, and set Hearts "A" to face the wind and rain. The home team did bulk of the pressing, but, on one of the few Hearts' raids, White opened the scoring. From then to half-time Aberdeen peppered the Hearts goal, but their luck was dead out, and half-time arrived with Hearts leading. Midway through the first period, when the rain was at its worst, there was a stampede from the "cheap side," and the spectators swarmed across part of the field and on to the grandstand. A diversion was caused by a "drunk" wandering on to the field, causing the referee to stop the game until he was removed. Ten minutes later, however, he reappeared and had to be removed again.
Although against the wind and rain, Aberdeen had the best of matters in the second half, and it was their just reward when Forbes headed their first and only goal off a cross by Main. About a quarter of an hour later, however, Kerr took advantage of a mix-up in the Aberdeen defence to run through and score. During fully three-quarters of the game the visitors were on the defensive.
