A major contribution to the Aberdeen Under 18 squad's magnificent Youth League record this season - 13 wins and one draw in 15 outings - has
been the scoring feats of Derek Young.
When the Pittodrie colts extended their run of consecutive victories to eight games with wins at the expense of Forfar (home) and Hibs (away) Young scored twice in each game, bringing his season's tally so far to 26 goals.
Having been held to a 1-1 draw at Forfar in November, the Aberdeen youngsters had something to prove in the return game at Keith Park and after Lee Barclay had headed them into the lead from a Baldur Bett corner in 10 minutes, Young opened his personal account from the penalty spot five minutes later.
The second half saw an "own goal" put Aberdeen three up and Baldur Bett was also on target before Young claimed his second goal, Michael Hart providing the cross, to complete a 5-1 victory.
