Aberdeen "A" Oust Falkirk By Only Goal.

Despite the many counter-attractions nearly spectators saw Aberdeen "A" qualify for the second round of the Scottish Second Eleven Cup by defeating Falkirk "A" by the only goal of the game.
Aberdeen "A" accounted for most of the pressure in the early stages, when the Falkirk goal ran several narrow escapes. A long shot from Cooper forced Birrell to concede a corner, but David placed behind.
Wilson crossed well for Merrie to head against the crossbar, while McLeod was just wide with a good drive.
Dora at last got the Falkirk attack going, but Cooper cleared, while Blackwell saved from Weir's free kick. Wilson retired, having apparently strained a muscle, while following a collision with a couple of Aberdeen defenders, Dora, the visitors' leader, had to be assisted to the pavilion. There was no scoring in the first half.
Wilson resumed after the interval, but Dora was still absent. Merrie forced a flag kick, and David placed nicely into the goalmouth for Wilson to score easily.
Falkirk raided in turn, and Blackwell had a great full length save from Miller.
Aberdeen again took up the running, Dickie being prominent with clever leading out work, but Merrie's shot was just off the mark. Until the end Aberdeen were the better side, and although the occasional visitors' raids were dangerous, no further scoring took place..
