Take Alliance Points at Easter Road.
Aberdeen "A" put up a surprisingly good performance at Easter Road, where they took Alliance League points from Hibs' reserves. This was the visitors' first brace of points for the season, their opening games having resulted in draws. The Young Dons gave a greatly improved display from last week, the forwards working well together. Warnock was in good form at outside right and netted twice, Scott doing likewise. Devine and Ritchie Smith shone on the left wing for the Young Dons, but Mclvor, the newcomer from Kirkintilloch, was not particularly impressive at inside right. The defence was strong, but the Hibs "A" team, which included two juniors in attack, did not play well. The forwards were well held by the Aberdeen "A" defence. Aberdeen "A" accounted for most of the pressure in the first half, and midway through the period they scored twice within three minutes, Warnock and Scott being the marksmen. The Easter Road reserves resumed strongly, and Borland got a goal after Westland had had two fine saves. Quick to retaliate, Aberdeen "A" again got going, and first Warnock and then Scott scored to bring their total to four. A last despairing effort by the homesters resulted in Miller finding the net. .Source: Press & Journal, 26th August 1935
