berdeen opened their Under 21 SPL campaign in convincing style with a superb 7-1 win over Motherwell at Keith Park. It was the visitors, though, who took the lead in the 15th minute when a McFadden corner was headed home by Dempsie. Ross O'Donoghue, who had stamped his class on the game with some excellent passing and had hit the bar prior to Well scoring, was getting himself involved in everything and although they were behind, the Dons were well on top. It was no surprise when, in the 20th minute, Aberdeen equalised through Chris CLARK, from twenty yards, after being set up by Calum Bett. Twenty minutes later, BETT turned from provider to scorer following good work from O'DonoghuE Sixty seconds later, Well defender WILSON diverted a Clark cross past his own keeper and just on the interval the Dons scored the goal of the game. Rachid BELABED spotted the Well keeper off his line and from fully forty yards fired the ball into the net.

The one way traffic continued in the second hdlf. Mark PERRY made it five in 48 minutes when he headed home from an Andy Dow free kick. Three minutes later BETT scored his second, scrambling home a Clark cross. The visitors were reduced to ten men when substitute Clarke, on the field only a matter of minutes, was sent off for stamping on Rachid. Fergus TIERNAN completed the rout a couple of minutes from time with a low drive.
