SCORES THREE GOALS AGAINST ST JOHNSTONE "A"
Aberdeen "A" scored a clear-cut and well-deserved victory over St Johnstone "A" at Muirton. The Young Dons were too strong a combination altogether for a disappointing and disjointed St Johnstone team. The Aberdeen side did everything much quicker and more neatly than their opponents with the halves working splendidly in combination with the forwards, the Young Dons had much more the game.DUNLOP AND FULTON INJURED
Unfortunately, the game was marred by severe injuries to Dunlop and Fulton In collision, their heads came together, and Dunlop had to be carried from the field suffering from severe concussion, while Fulton had to have a head wound stitched at the infirmary after the game. Warnock missed several scoring chances. Warnock in particular was a frequent sinner in this respect, getting several perfect opportunities presented to him. Brownlie in the St Johnstone goal could scarcely be blamed for his side's defeat. Although he was passed three he brought off some wonderful saves.SCOTT'S CLEVER DISTRIBUTION
The game was a personal triumph for Ritchie Smith, who scored all his side's three goals. Much of his success was due to clever distribution by W. Scott, who was a very dangerous raider. The halves were solid in defence and constructive in attack, while Erskine and Newton were very safe behind them.Source: Press & Journal, 31st January 1938
