HUNTLY DO NOT LACK ENTHUSIASM
Aberdeen won by five goals to two a friendly match at Christie Park, Huntly, last night. There was a large crowd at the game. Huntly strengthened their team for the occasion by the 'inclusion of Willox and Mann (Keith), and Matthew Stewart (Peterhead). At the end of eight minutes Taylor, with a neat shot, placed the ball in the net to give Aberdeen the lead. The Dons showed better positional play, but had nothing on the home lot for downright enthusiasm.KELLY HARD PRESSED,/p> In the subsequent play Kelly was twice hard pressed to keep his goal intact. The 'keeper at full stretch turned hard shot by Nicol round the post, and a moment later Stewart struck the upright with fierce drive. In thirty-five minutes Currer headed a second goal for the Dons. Two minutes later, during a Huntly raid, Kelly missed a pass back by Newton and the ball ran into the net. Near the interval Taylor clinched a superior spell of Aberdeen play by putting his side further ahead. With the Dons more or less resting on their laurels, play in the second half was rather more even, and Kelly had a few difficult shots to deal with. Midway through, Currer headed a fourth goal from flag-kick, and later Taylor added a fifth. In the closing minute Shand netted for Huntly.
