Poor Finishing At Shawfield

ABERDEEN RESERVES NEVER GET GOING

There was never much between the sides m the Reserve League game at Shawfield Park but the verdict undoubtedly went to the better team. The Aberdeen attack could not get going, and most of their raids petered out before they reached shooting distance.
In the early stages the visitors were dangerous, but McArthur was seldom troubled, although he dealt ably with one shot by Smith. Following this Clyde took command, and it was no surprise when Morrison tricked the defence and netted a goal.
There was no more scoring before the interval, finishing on both sides being deplorable. in the second half play became little brighter, with Donald a trier for the visitors. However, it was Clyde who scored again. Milligan being the marksman. Donald reduced the leeway before the close.
Kelly was safe in the Aberdeen "A" goal, and Smith of Duntocher Hibs played a sound game after starting shakily. The half-backs were not too impressive, and Laing (Buckie Thistle) seemed slow.
Pattillo was well held, and as a result the forward line never got going. Both extreme wingers were weak.
For the home side Telford was the outstanding player.
