FIVE GOALS OUT OF EIGHT AT HAMILTON
Pattillo, the Young Dons' centre forward, was the hero of this Reserve League match at Douglas Park. He had five goals, and his general play was outstanding. He kept the home defence on the alert, and distributed play to great advantage. Hamilton were too eager on the few occasions they did get near enough goal to have a try. Aberdeen's reserves started off as if they meant business, and Pattillo was soon on the mark. He was getting good support from the wingers, and had three goals in quick time. Before the interval Brady snicked a fourth in a goalmouth scrimmage. Hardly had the game been restarted when Pattillo was again on the mark. Shortly after this the homesters lost the services of McGurk with an injured leg, and Pattillo and Williams increased the score. There were no weak links in the visiting side, in which Grant and Pattillo caught the eye most.Source: Press & Journal, 7th November 1938
