What Is Wrong With The Reserves?
What's wrong with the Aberdeen reserves? Another home defeat at the hands of Partick Thistle "A" leaves them with three points from seven engagements. This form just isn't good enough.
In Saturday's game the wing half-backs never got a grip of the Firhill inside forwards, and the Pittodrie forwards, apart from Mills, who got away some good passes in the first half, carried neither craft nor thrust.
The only home player who came out of the game with reputation enhanced was Alan Massie, the right back, who came to Aberdeen from Banks o' Dee.
Ihe defence as a whole was unimpressive, and Bruce in goal did not inspire confidence.
Most the danger came from the Partick left flank, where Chisholm and Lang struck up a happy partnership.
McBeath, the former Ross County player, who was on the Thistle right wing, scored two goals and Lang one. Callander was the Aberdeen scorer.
