A FAST and exciting game was seen at Cathkin with plenty of thrills at both ends and both keepers in tip-top form.
Although Aberdeen won it wasn't so easy for them, as Queens often outpointed them in pure football and had the Young Dons' defence several times in difficulties.
The Young Dons were certainly the more forceful side, and none did better than McVean, who plied his forwards well with the hall and was always up to try a shot on his own. Up to the interval both goals were intact.
The second half found Aberdeen forcing the pace, and the highlight of this period was Glen's hat-trick. All his goals were well taken.
Others who contributed to their success were McLaughlan and Hume, who were prominent throughout.
