Inept Display At Pittodrie

IN the whole ninety minutes at Pittodrie there were only two direct shots at goal, and these were brilliantly turned aside by 'keepers Scott and Carrie. Apart frcm that, neither team ever looked like scoring, and it is a long time since such an inept display has been seen at the ground.
One side was as bad the other. Both teams included players of experience, but combined play was conspicuous by its absence.
The policy seemed to be to get rid of the ball at any price. Neither set of forwards seemed to have any ideas about goal-scoring.
Hume, for Aberdeen, while clever on the ball, spent his time wandering across the field instead of taking the direct route to goal. Lambie, at centre, could nothing right.
