'Keeper Foils Young Dons
A SPLENDID display by Niven, the home 'keeper, prevented the Young Dons from completing an Aberdeen double over East Fife on Saturday. They drew 2-2 in stormy conditions at Bayview Park.
Aberdeen had the initiative almost entirely throughout the first half, and East Fife were fortunate to be in the lead at half-time through a Warrender goal scored in the fifteenth minute.
Davidson Increased the home lead before Smith reduced the leeway with a real opportunist goal. Glen got the equaliser.
Though invariably beaten in the air, Smith was a fast and elusive leader for the Dons. Kiddie, who sent in some grand shots, was the better winger.
The wing half backs did well and McKenna at left back was effective and resourceful.
