A fighting Hibs side gained deserved victory over Aberdeei "A" at Pittodrie on Saturday.
Playing for most of the game with ten men, having lost left half Nicol with a knee injury following a tackle, the Edinburgh team were undaunted by the young Dons' league record, and all the finer touches came from the visitors.
Aberdeen will have to improve on this showing if they hope to win when they meet Hlbs in the quarter-final of "C" League Cup at Easter Road next Monday.
Hibs' danger-man was MacDonald on the right wing. He scored twice, and Mackie completed Hibs’ tally. Baird was Aberdeen's scorer.
