The young Dons kicked of their pre-season games on 14th of July with a friendly at Bridge of Don Barracks against Cove Rangers. The youngsters ran out 2-1 winners in a game in which they dominated the first half but could only convert one of their many chances - Calum Bett, scoring the Dons' first goal just before half time. A Darren Mackie penalty awarded after he had been brought down put the youngsters two up early in the second half.
Visitors Cove pulled a goal back late in the game but despite several close things could not force an equaliser with the Dons defence standing firm.
