Mayer shot wide with 1 minute to go before the break, but the Dons were starting to look like a team capable of scoring a goal.
EOIN JESS made it 1-0 to the Dons after 58 minutes. Mayer had a crack which hit the bar, and Jess netted the rebound to put the home side a goal up.
It looked as if Aberdeen were going to pick up a 1-0 victory, until the 82nd minute when Hibs equalised. Ricky Gillies however made it 2-1 to the Dons with 4 minutes remaining, when he scored a brilliant header. The Dons looked safe, but with only 3 minutes to go Matthias Jack of Hibs spoiled the Dons party, and the chance of a first league victory for Ebbe Skovdahl, when he scrambled the ball into the net, to complete an amazing final ten minutes to the game.
Overall, the Dons will be happy to get off the points mark, but dissapointed not to have piched up three points on the day. They played some good football, and can take heart from a fighting display in front of their own crowd.
