Zero Goal Earns Pittodrie Replay

The Dons managed a draw against first division leaders St Mirren, thanks to a stunning free-kick from Morrocan hitman HICHAM ZEROUALI.

The first half produced few clear cut chances for either side, and anything that was hit in the direction of Jim Leighton was comfortably dealt with. The sides went in at the break at 0-0, with St Mirren comanding the majority of possesion in the first 45 minutes.

St Mirren continued to pressurise the Dons defence, and they got their reward in the 56th minute when STEVE MCGARRY struck from a free-kick, hitting it past the helpless Jim Leighton in the Dons defence.

Derek Whyte had a 30 yard effort which went just wide, Arild Stavrum and Zerouali also came close in the 2nd half. Finally in the 75th minute, the Dons managed an equaliser. HICHAM ZEROUALI struck from fully 25 yards to beat Saints keeper Roy, and put the Dons back on level terms.
In the dying seconds, Arild Stavrum was given a glorius opportunity to make it 2-1 to the Dons, but he failed to score from only 6 yards.

The replay will be played on the 8th of February at Pittodrie
