Aberdeen picked up a point against Dundee at Dens Park this afternoon, with Arild Stavrum netting the equaliser from the penalty spot. Stavrum nearly put the Dons a goal up in the first minute, but Dee defender Steven Tweed knocked the ball off the line. Cannigia hit a shot on goal two minutes later, but he couldn't find the net.
The Dons kept up the pressure on the Dee defence, and in the 14th minute, On-loan Don ALEX DI-ROCCO made it 1-0. The big Frenchman was in the right place at the right time, and finished clinically. Arild Stavrum had a great chance to make it 2-0, after 27 minutes, but he fired over the bar. Claudio Cannigia was on form, and with 5 minutes left in the first half he set up Sara, but he couldn't grab the equaliser. Two minutes later, Winters had a shot deflected wide and out for a Don's corner.
Four minutes into the second half saw Cannigia have a good effort, brilliantly saved by young Don Ryan Esson. The Don's keeper tipped over the bar to deny Dundee a goal. With half an hour left, Dundee finally got an equaliser. CARRANZA brilliantly fired home, after being set up by Juan Sara. Arild Stavrum had a 68th minute strike ruled offside, and just two minutes later SARA made it 2-1 to Dundee.
Aberdeen's chances of getting anything from the game were starting to look slim, until Di-Rocco was ruled to have been brought down in the box, and the Dons were awarded a penalty. Despite having missed a few chances during the game, Arild Stavrum stepped up to make it 2-2. Dundee looked likely to make it 3-2 in the 84th minute when Cannigia had a great chance, but a superb double save from Esson made sure that the Dons went back to Pittodrie with a point.
