Aberdeen Reserves were back in action after a long layoff but a very young side went down to an experienced Killie outfit at Rugby Park. The home side went ahead after only eight minutes when Connor Sammon scored. The second goal did not come until me hour mark when ex-Dons defender Ryan O'Leary scored and Iain Flanagan completed the scoring four minutes from time.
Sandy Clark spoke to Red Web after the game. "With the exception of Dezzy and Duff it was a very young team we had out. The back four was particularly inexperienced and were up against David Fernandez and Sammon. I hope they will all have learnt a lot from the experience.
We have not had a reserve game since November which means some of the boys have not played a lot of football. And it showed. Saying that is was still a disappointing performance. Some of the guys did not reach the standards they have are capable of, but that is the thing with young players, they are inconsistent."
