Aberdeen u19s made it 11 goals in 2 games after another impressive victory, this time over St Johnstone this afternoon at Balgownie. Callum McRobbie scored a hat-trick which means the striker has now scored 5 goals in 2 games.
St Johnstone started the game brightly and Lukasik had to look lively a few times in the opening stages. The Dons midfield duo of Low and Jack started to get a grip of the game and after that there was only going to be one winner.
The opening goal came in the 22 minute and it was a superb solo effort from Callum McRobbie. Captain Scott Ross won the ball and McRobbie picked it up just about the half way line. The striker ran at the Saints defence and after beating a couple of defenders he hit a great shot from the edge of the box into the left corner of the net.
Six minutes later it was two. McRobbie, whose fast foot work and trickery was causing mayhem, was up ended in the box and ref Cheyne pointed to the spot. Callum took the kick himself and scored comfortably.
Eight minutes later it was three after the goal of the game. This time it was Nicky Low who picked the ball in the middle of the park after a pass from Davidson and then the outstanding midfielder made his way straight through the middle of the defence, beating about three men, before coolly finishing.
In the second half Aberdeen continued to dominate and on 66 minutes Callum completed his hat-trick. Ryan Jack, who is getting better each week and had another excellent game, did well down the right and he crossed of McRobbie to tap home from close range.
On the hour mark Neil Cooper made a couple of changes with Brown and Bolger entering the play and then Gibson came on for the hat-trick hero. All three played well and Gibson got number 5. Low played a great through ball for Nico who hit a superb first time shot past Clark in the Saints goal.
The scoring was complete on 83 minutes when Bolger did well to play the ball back to Low and the midfielder grabbed his second goal.
