ABERDEEN PLAY A DRAW WITH LIVERPOOL.
At Pittodrie Park last, night, in a match for the benefit of John Hutton, Aberdeen's international back, the home team and Liverpool played a draw of one goal each. There were about 6000 spectators. Although not lacking in keenness, there never was much to enthuse over in the play. Early in the game Shone converted for Liverpool following a scramble in front of the Aberdeen goal, but Thomson responded with a brilliant goal after cleverly beating three opponents. Until the interval Aberdeen held the upper hand, and Scott executed several fine saves. Once his charge was fortunate to escape when Paton shot against the upright. Throughout the second period play ruled from end to end, with Aberdeen the more dangerous side, but there was no further scoring, although the Liverpool inside-right, failed more than once to improve upon his own good work by wild shooting. Paton showed much cleverness in the Aberdeen attack, but this department of both teams was generally inferior to the defences.
