SOUTH AFRICANS OUTPLAYED

ONE MORE MATCH AND THEN HOME

Aberdeen F.C. outclassed South Africa in all departments of the game in the third Test here to-day, and their victory by three goals to two does not in any way give an idea of their superiority.
Poor shooting on the part of the Scottish forwards saved the home side from a much bigger defeat.

FINISHING BAD

The visitors' lack of finishing was especially noticeable in the first half, when for over half an hour they kept the ball in their opponents' half of the field, yet managed to score only once, the interval arriving with the score 1-1.
The South African forwards were seldom prominent, and only three times did they get a shot at the Aberdeen goal.
Scott gave the tourists the lead in the nineteenth minute after a fine movement between Falloon, Lang and Devine, but straight from the re-start South Africa equalised, Foxcroft netting.
During the second half the South Africans had little more of the game, but in the sixty-fifth and seventy-fifth minutes Lang and Devine increased Aberdeen's lead to 3-1. The third goal was scored with a long shot, the South African goalkeeper appearing to be unsighted. Just previously rain began to fall.

10,000 CROWD

South Africa's second goal was obtained by Mitchell from a pass by Jaffer, the former driving the ball into the roof of the net ten minutes before time.
Falloon and Lang were outstanding for Aberdeen. Brunton, the South African captain, was the most prominent of the home players.
The match was begun in overcast and cool weather before a crowd of 10,000 spectators. During the three Test matches Aberdeen scored thirteen goals against five. They won the first Test by 5-2 and the second by 5-1.
Aberdeen have only one more match, against a Western Province side at Hartleyvale next Wednesday, before they sail for home on the following Friday.
