Aberdeen 2 - 0 Falkirk

ABERDEEN and Motherwell are now the only undefeated teams in "A" Division of the Scottish League. Hearts suffered their first defeat of the season from their neighbours, Hibs, and at Tynecastle, too.
The Dons and Motherwell are equal in points with the Dons holding an advantage on goal average, then Hibs and Hearts follow with seven points each.
The Dons however, are confronted with two very stiff encounters. On Saturday they meet Hibs at Easter Road, and the following week Motherwell come to Pittodrie. If the Dons can take at least one point from Hibs and beat the Fir Park team at home, then they will be in a very strong position. Meantime they are three points ahead of Rangers, who have once more struck their best form.

The Dons mastered Falkirk at Pittodrie two clear goals scored by Pattillo. The Brockville team was the best the Dons have encountered this season.
It was a very keenly contested game, in which the defences generally held the upper hand, but Aberdeen were worthy winners in the end.
There was little between the teams in the first half. Pattillo's opening goal, however, gave the Dons the necessary confidence, and his second counter from a terrific twenty yards' drive after the interval sealed Falkirk's fate.
Both goalkeepers were reliable. All four backs were good, with young McKenna not inferior to any.
Falkirk have a coming pivot in Henderson, but their wing halves lacked pace, although both Ogilvie and Napier were decidedly clever on the ball.
It was the Aberdeen middle division which paved the way for victory. Bremner and Taylor played superb football, with Dunlop always a tower of strength In the middle.
The Aberdeen attack was ragged at times, but nevertheless full of fight. Baird was the outstanding forward afield, with Pattillo and Williams grand foragers. Kiddie was clever on the wing and Green, although obviously out of position performed creditably.
