Young Dons Rally After Early Reverse

In miserable weather conditions, the crowd who turned up to watch this annual fixture were rewarded with a good game with plenty of good goals. The opener came in only 30 seconds with the young Dons failing to touch the ball as the visitors raced into an early lead. After that, Archie Glen tightened up the defence and the traffic was in the other direction. It took Aberdeen until after the interval to get on the scoresheet but once they did there was only going to be one winner, with MacRae scoring the first before Graham Leggat engineered the second for Kelly, who scored his second 12 minutes later. The fourth came nine minutes from the end when Brown headed in a Higgins cross.
