10 man u21s edged out

Aberdeen's U21 side went down 1-0 to Rangers in Dumbarton after playing for most of the second half with 10 men.

An evenly matched contest saw the sides locked at 0-0 at halftime, but that all changed early in the second half as Rangers edged in front after 48 minutes, with Kevin Rutkevicz receiving his marching orders 5 minutes later.

It was backs to the wall stuff from the Dons thereafter as they kept the light blues at bay for the remainder of the game.

Coach Drew Jarvie was disappointed at the final outcome, "It could have been different had we managed to take a couple of the chances we created in the first half. The sides were evenly matched in terms of age with both teams fielding 4 over-age players."
