During the first exchange is the Aberdeen team were the most vigorous in their attack, and for a time completely confined the home lot to their own territory, but the ground forwards soon pulled themselves together, and it was Mutch's turn to hold many and strong shots. Lochgelly continued to press, and Devine scored cleverly. Peggie and Scott looked like adding a second for the homesters, but their efforts were repelled. Thomson got his first shot to negotiate from Lawrie, and cleared smartly. A rush by Aberdeen was intercepted by Splitt, who had to concede a corner, which was badly taken. Play soon returned to the other end, and Peggie nearly defeated Mutch with a pass by Devine. The visitors' half backs pretend some capital work, Lawrie and Thomson doing good footwork on the left wing. Towards the close of the first period the homesters pressed hardly, but nothing resulted, and the whistle sounded.
One play was faster in the second half, and the locals took the upper hand. On one occasion Mutch picked the ball off Peggie's boot. The same player shortly afterwards muddled a likely goal shot, which, however, was remedied by Mackie, who scored from a square by Paterson, and the game ended - Lochgelly 2, Aberdeen A 1.
