Aberdeen A visited Dunfermline, and played a Northern League match at East End park. Teams:-
Dunfermline: Foster; Pitbldo, Young; Adamson, Allan, Christie; Low, McLean, McLeod, Tait, Ferguson.
Aberdeen A: Barrett; Murray, Brebner; Davidson, Thompson, Robertson; Harvey, Hilton, ward, Cruikshank, Smith.
Referee - Mr. Hood, Saint Johnston.
Dunfermline lost the toss, and for a period played with ten men, Macleod being late in turning up. In the opening stages of the game the Aberdonians pressed. They tried long shooting, but Foster was not seriously pressed. With mighty punting by the visiting backs and halves the forwards made good ground, and a couple of corners fell to them. A good effort by Harvey was averted by Pitblado, while a fruitless corner fell to the visitors. At last the Aberdonians got their deserved point, Cruikshank scoring after Pitblado had blocked the ball. With their full team, Dunfermline were now are in the ascendancy. Mclean headed the ball into the arms of Barrett.
A nice pass from Mclean to Low was Dunfermline's opening movement in the second half. The ball was, however, returned to Pitblado, who kicked into touch. Adamson passed with judgement to Low, but the ball went into touch before the forward could get his foot on it. A great shot by Harvey on Aberdeen's right was well saved by Foster, who had to drop on his knees. Undoubtedly Aberdeen were at this stage playing the better game. Low sprinted along on the Dunfermline right at the great speed, and passed nicely to Mclean, but that player misjudged his return, and the ball went past. A foul against Thomson allowed the Aberdonians to transfer the play, and Smith had a good try for goal. Thereafter Dunfermline pressed and Murray had a creditable try, the ball striking the wrong side of the net.
