Early in the game McBean had to hold shots from Harvey and Hamilton. Aberdeen never seemed to have any bother in reaching the range for firing from, but the shots at times were anything but dangerous. After a deal of fancy gallery manipulating right in front of McBean the first corner was forced by Robertson. As a follow-up of this, Harvey had several marvellous tries, which, luckily for Bon-Accord, did not count. The Bon-Accord backs, aided by Bell and Stronach, coupled with downright luck, managed often to check the home quintette. Even though the "A's" were not gathering goals their monopoly delighted the 500 spectators. Hesitating and afterwards blundering, the Bon-Accord backs gave Hamilton and desired chance to score after 35 minutes of semi-farcical play. The goal was the direct means of bringing on a lot of extra trouble for a continuous bombardment was kept up by the reserves on McBean and his colleagues.
In fond expectation of having it all their own way, the crowd congregated at the end defended by Bon-Accord. Bon-Accord's right wing managed to get down on Herd, but the finish was bad. All praise is due to McBean were his exertions in keeping the Aberdeen forwards from compiling a big score. Now and then the "black and white" were granted a passage, until they were absolutely stopped when Willox swooped down. As a good thing climax to a bit of manoeuvring Hamilton shot a second goal. So continually outclassed, Bon-Accord did not fall, and were full of luck in the second portion. A very one sided game ended Aberdeen A, 3; Bon-Accord, 0.
