Peterhead at Pittodrie.
Only a mere handful of spectators witnessed the game at Pittodrie on Saturday between the Peterhead and the A Team. Play was interesting all through, the visitors showing good football, but failed at close quarters. They have a clever forward line, and their halves got through a lot of work, but were deficient in placing. The backs and goalkeeper exhibited a good knowledge of what is required in defence. On the home side, Dalgarno was in fine trim at centre forward, and was the outstanding figure in the picture, all the three goals being piloted through by him, though the others had a say in what led up to the scoring. King, was safe in goal, but Hannah was often beat, and his new partner good for a first appearance, being strong in kicking, though a little weak in tackling. Davidson was the best of the halves, though there was very little to choose between any of them, Macfarlane and Roberts doing splendid work. It was a game in which, with a little luck, Peterhead should have made a closer game of it than they did, their play in the outfield being good, Cadger and Scott being most prominent; while Imlay sent over some very fine crosses, which the centre missed. With their present team, Peterhead should do well in the county ties.Source: Bon-Accord, 10th December 1908
