Aberdeen Reserves fielded a strong team against St Johnstone under Northern League auspices at Perth, and were rather unfortunate to lose by the only goal. In a dour struggle, both goals were well visited, but it was only in the closing stages that Williams headed past Sutherland from a difficult angle. Aberdeen had quite as much of the play as their opponents, and it was only the fine saving the St Johnstone goalkeeper, who was ably supported by his backs, that gave the points to the home team. Those who did best on the Aberdeen side were Hume, McCombie, Chatwin, Grant, Macdonald and Watson. .
