"Tame" is the only description that could be applied to the Alliance game at Kirkcaldy, where the A teams of Raith Rovers and Aberdeen divided two points. The moderate-sized crowd that assembled had little to enthuse over, and between two disjointed elevens there was little to pick and choose from; Aberdeen were best served by the half-back division, where McLeod in particular distinguished himself. Forward there was too great a tendency to roam, and many good chances were missed through this failing. Forbes and Grant, were the pick of the line. The backs did little, but Smith in goal distinguished himself with many smart saves. The home defence was good all over, but the front rank played disjointedly, and, like that of Aberdeen, missed many good openings. Raith's came after fifteen minutes' play, "Newman " availing himself of an open goal. Petrie's goal came ten minutes from the close from a corner.
