In defeating Partick Thistle "A" by 2-0 In a Scottish Alliance game at Firhill, the Aberdeen reserve team accomplished one of its best performances of the season. They scored a goal in each half, Mutch and Swan being the marksmen. In the first period, Thistle often attacked, but could not beat Lawrie, who repeatedly saved his goal on numerous occasions. When they attacked there was always sting in the finishing of the Aberdeen forwards, who worked with rare harmony, and when Mutch accepted a pass from Watt to net from close range the goal was thoroughly deserved. In the second period play was evenly distributed, each side attacking in turn, but the Pittodrie players showed the greater confidence. After a combined run, Swan swept in a good shot, which struck the underside of the crossbar and rebounded over the goal-line. Aberdeen were the better-balanced side, and were splendidly served by McBoyle, Grosert, Watt, Swan, and Connon.
