Aberdeen Reserves put up a great fight at Tynecastle, and did well to run Hearts "A" to the only goal in a Scottish Alliance match. A miss by a defender enabled D. White to count for Hearts early in the game, and, although they repeatedly attacked afterwards, Aberdeen failed to draw level. Before the interval D. Thomson, the Aberdeen left winger, was injured, and was unable to resume, and it was a good performance on the part of the team to acquit itself so well in the circumstances. Ritchie, who took Cunningham's place in goal, gave a great display, and others who shone for Aberdeen "A" were Thomson, McBoyle, Sutherland, and Paton. Hearts' best were Gilfillan, Jamieson, Johnstone, Campbell, and Welsh.
