At Pittodrie yesterday the Aberdeen Reserves had a good win over Partick Thistle A in a Scottish Alliance fixture, securing both points with a 4-0 victory. In the first half the visitors were slightly more methodical in their work, but their finishing efforts were poor, and they could not make much of the resolute Aberdeen defence, in which Edwards (Banff) and Bruce excelled. Spalding scored a fine goal well on in the half, and at the interval the homesters were leading by a goal.
In the second half the play of the homesters improved, and Spalding soon notched a second point, Ramsay, the Partick goalie, letting the ball slip through his hands. The keeper was again at fault with the third goal, when he allowed a great drive by McBoyle to bounce from his hands over the line. Forbes got the fourth from close in. Aberdeen were best served by Cunningham, Bruce, Edwards, and Spalding, while Partick's best were Allison, Robertson, Marshall, Blair, and Salisbury.
