Quick Dons Double

The Aberdeen line-up also had an experienced look for the Reserve League Cup quarter-final at Kilmarnock, where a cold wind and a heavy pitch made for difficult playing conditions.
Playing into the wind in the firt half, goalkeeper Michael Watt was tested on a number of occasions but Aberdeen held a one-goal lead at the interval and added two more in the second half, Gibson, Ian Cameron and an "own goal" making up the tally.
