The Aberdeen second string accomplished quite a good performance by defeating Airdrie "A" by the only goal of a Scottish Alliance fixture at Pittodrie. The weather was dull, and at times showers of rain hampered the players. There was little to enthuse over in the display of either team, the shooting of the forwards being of a wretched description. Both sets of defenders played well, with the home rear ranks perhaps the steadier. Aberdeen had Berstad, a Norwegian internationalist, at inside left, and the newcomer revealed glimpses of form which will make him an acquisition to the team. Higgins, a West of Scotland junior, figured at left back, but a rather patchy display. Bruce got Aberdeen's goal late on in the second half, a fast-rising shot from about 30 yards out giving the Airdrie custodian no chance. There were about 3000 spectators present.
