Reverse For Aberdeen 'A'
The Aberdeen reserve team were defeated by Ayr United ' 'A' at Somerset Park in a Scottish Alliance match by 6 goals to 3. Anderson opened the scoring for the home team with a long-range drive, and ten minutes later added a second, McKenzie and Spence scoring a third and fourth in quick succession. Towards the interval the Aberdeen forwards showed improved form, and Grant scored a well-taken goal. Shortly afterwards the same player netted again, but the point was disallowed for offside. Forbes, however, got through to beat Brown shortly afterwards, and the at half-time it was 4-2 in favour of the United. Aberdeen attacked in the earlier stages of the second half but finished badly, and they fell further into arrears when McKenzie netted from the penalty spot. Later the exchanges were even, and Miller for the United and Bowie for Aberdeen scored.
