Aberdeen 'A' Beaten At Ibrox
Rangers "A" and Aberdeen "A" met last night in the concluding Scottish Alliance game.
Rangers "A" were the better side in the opening exchanges, Chalmers and King excelling in their work. The Dons' defence was being pressed, and it was no surprise when Kirkwood opened the scoring after 15 minutes. Aberdeen showed up well on the right, and had many promising raids, but Osborne and Jamieson were very sound, yet Hamilton twice had to give of his best to clear from Main and Moore. Rangers were soon back at McKelvie's goal, and Kirkwood again scored for the home club. Five minutes later the Light Blues went further ahead. Dick sent over a fine cross, and Ure unfortunately deflected the ball past McKelvie. The home side were now masters of the situation, and Meiklejohn had two great drives, both striking the cross-bar. Half-time was called with Rangers leading 3-0.
Aberdeen started off with two corners, but with no tangible result. This was followed by a spell of Rangers' pressure, and then W. K. Jackson tested Hamilton with a hard drive. After 20 minutes' play W. K. Jackson scored for Aberdeen. The visitors were a better side in second half, but Rangers were playing well within themselves. W. K. Jackson scored for Aberdeen just on time.
