East Fife kicked off, and in the early exchanges had the better of matters. After a short time Aberdeen got away, but were immediately brought up and sent back into their own territory. Hay managed to get away, and after a struggle in front of East Fife's goal the ball was forced behind, but nothing came of the resulting kick. Aberdeen still continued to press, and the home backs had their work cut out for them in repelling the attack. East Fife assumed the aggressive, and Mutch had a hot time but managed to keep his goal intact. Aberdeen next bombarded the homesters' goal, and Mackie in saving a shot was struck in the stomach with the ball. The custodian lost his wind, and although he made a plucky attempt to remain in his charge, he was seen to faint, and had to be carried off the field, one of the half-backs taking the vacant place.
When the second. Commenced, Mackie again came out with the East Fife team. The local lads at once took the game in hand, and Mutch had several hard shots to deal with. McLean beat the keeper, who was out of his goal, but Brebner cleared with his head. Aberdeen were now confined to their own territory, and Horne beat much with a rocket shot, while another goal was soon added, the game finishing - East Fife 2, Aberdeen A 0.
