Scanlon Shapes Well
Torrance scored an early goal for the visitors, but Dougie Brown (back to his normal striking position) put us in front with two quick goals. His first was a header after Doug Rougvie had headed on a cross from the left wing. His second came from the penalty spot after he had been brought down by Ally Hunter, the goalkeeper.
We went further ahead soon after the interval when George Campbell scored with a hard low shot from the wing.,
This was our first league win in four games, and there was no doubt that the experience of Chic McLelland, Gordon Strachan and "New Boy" Ian Scanlon helped us greatly. Ian Scanlon had quite a good game considering he was not match fit, but he showed enough to suggest that he will be an asset to the club.
Doug Brown had to leave the field with a groin injury which was a pity, as "Netzer" seemed to be in the mood for scoring goals.
