Leighton's Penalty Save Boosts Reserves

We had a great result last Friday night when we beat Dundee United by a Steve Cowan goal following a mistake by our former goalkeeper John Gardiner. This win keeps us at the top of the League. We were well worth our win, with Willie Garner and Doug Considine giving us strength at the back and the Dundee forwards could find no way past them. The only chance they had was when Willie Garner was adjudged to have handled the ball in the penalty area, but Jim Leighton came to the rescue with a good save from Reilly.
We had two former players support-ing us at the game, Ian Fleming and Bobby Glennie, both now with Dundee and I'm sure they must have been impressed with our display.
Last Saturday was a busy time for most of our players. After the Dundee United game, most of them made their different ways to supporters clubs dinner and dances. These are good social occasions and it gives the supporters a change to get to know the players.
